Zool.'s first album Vadem expands the musical universe that
made his two previous ep's, zoolepone & zooleptwo, released
on his own Hidden Pleasure Recordings, stand out from the
electronica crowd. This album emphasizes the harmonic and
organic melancholy that makes his work more human than most
other computer-orientated artists.
Most of the tracks are not merely based upon
computer-generated sounds, but are made using a lot of
real-world sounds as banjo, guitar, cello, piano and voice,
sometimes digitally treated in a way beyond recognition.
Vadem blends diverse influences, ranging from dub to idm,
over postrock to ambient, resulting in a very personal
style of his own.
As U-cover likes to stand for a high quality label, Zool.'s
music fits perfect in their roster. For those who are not
familiar with Zool.'s music it is now time to discover this
musical talent.
