**************************
Soundscape is a solo release by Japanese multi instrumentalist Tadashi Goto.
Though the music presented in this album was first composed and recorded in 2001, when the musician was living in Australia, it took 4 years to finally being released by Musea.
The music here is purely instrumental, with emphasis on the guitar and keyboards. The use of a drum machine, like it often happens, does take a whole lot of interest, tending to hurt the music deeply, as it sounds way much artificial.
Sometimes in the vein of other Japanese outfits such as Brain Salad, Kenso, Side Steps or Igzit-Nine, Sonicscape twists and twirls in the paths of Jazz-Rock with progressive sparkles thrown in the mix.
Sometimes challenging and complex, other times more introspective and calm... |
